Bringing Sexy Back.. Mr and Miss Strides

Folks we've heard people talking, we've seen them posting on social media buh at StyleArchivezw we bring to you first hand info.

So talk of the town is Mr and miss Strides pageant is coming back and we decided to bring it to you right from the horse's mouth (a pretty one).

We talked to the Founder and Creative director of Strides Modelling Agency Mrs Sipho Mazibuko to get an insight of what to expect.
Strides Modelling Agency started back in 2002 and as a former beauty queen she saw the need to market models into the diaspora. Having won Miss Byo 1992 amongst her 13 titles, this was the perfect individual to mould these careers.

Having been out of the peagant business for a while, she's decided to bring back the famous Mr and Miss Strides. Sipho is promising a different and top of the range event also giving contracts to models to work in South Africa. Having no pageant in Zim that caters for white folks, Sipho took this chance to cater for them as well.

Specialising in peagant Modelling, this gorgeous lady is not scared of the competition that comes with runway Modelling as she calls herself a specialist in beauty pageants.
So peeps as we heard it from Sipho, let's wait for this top of the range fashion event and let's not forget to look dapper as always.

Exclusive on Mboe Mahocs

It was such an honour folks this past week to have a chat with one of the queens of Bulawayo. We were even more honoured when she allowed us to write this exclusive part on her. Folks I bring to you Mbonisi Mahonondo a.k.a Mboe Mahocs

Born and bred in Bulawayo, this ball of prettiness attended quiet a number of schools leading to Eveline high school where she did her A'level. She then studied film then joined Bulawayo Polytechnic where she's currently studying architecture. She says even though she loathed it at first, she's discovered the Creative science of it and she's grew to appreciate it as  it and I quote "keeps my creative juices flowing".

Studying film and being an actress was the stepping stone to her claim of fame which is presenting and music. She describes her craft as something sewn into the fabric of her being and that's where it comes from. Driven by her passion, she nurtured this natural talent she had discovered thus igniting and fuelling the spark to venture into this craft.

Of her many current projects, she's part of the Byo's new radio station SkyzFM. Co-hosting a vibrant show with Byo's one and only GilmoreTee, she says she's thrilled to be part of it all. She's still weking on her independent slot to come soon which will be called Spotlight leMboe Mahocs and we really can't wait for this.

With the last words folks, I couldn't help buh take her exact words and give them to you coz they really inspired me as well.

I quote "In Sotho we say, "motho ke motho kabatho". It takes a whole village to raise a child. I haven't 'become' on my own, it took a village, family, friends, fans, people from different walks of life i meet that encourage me, build me, mould me, even criticise me coz that is what makes me be the woman i am. Above all, it is Grace from above."

So here you have it folks. Below are the pix of our very own Queen Mboe

The Supportive Annie G

Heeey fashion folks. Last week I gave u an introduction on the Queen of Fashion Annie G.
Well I bring her to you once again. Last Thursday (please don't the lateness) I attended the Red Collection launch for the gorgeous Rudo as she was launching her bag brand and I witnessed something so spectacular involving this amazing lady Annie G.
Folks Annie rocked the red carpet with all her goodies in her hands. Yes you heard me right! I'm talking abt her phone, lipstick, purse, you name it. At first I thought, is this the lady I look up to? What happened? It was at this tym that Rudo came with one of her amazing cream designer bag detailed with some gold studs,! Right on the red carpet, she handed it to Annie G in front of everyone, with Annie putting all her goodies in the bag and we caught all this on the camera.
So folks not only does this lady bring the best clothes to us, but she also supports other upcoming designers. What an amazing reason to look up to this woman.

Upcoming Talent... Francis C

So this past week we also got a chance to chat to one of our upcoming male models Francis C. And thanks to technology, we did this in the comfort of our homes through IM. We got to find out a few things that m sure all of you didn't knoe jus lyk us. Then we thought, why not share with our fashion folks. This is how it all went down:
Note: there was minimal editing to this conversation.

SaZw -  StyleArchivezw

SaZw❗: So in brief, tell us who Francis is and what you do?

Fra C: Well Francis C is a young gifted and yellowbone lad *wink* lol who is very passionate about everything he does hey, i'm 21 and i'm a student at the national university of science and tech, studying a hons degree in publishing,,,and at the same time building a career in the fashion industry or world as some may call it as a model

SaZw❗: Oh that's nice. I see someone has some vanity in him, not that I blame you.. Lol

Fra C: Hahaha

SaZw❗: Considering some negativity that comes with this fashion career, what made u really come to a decision that this is it for u?

Fra C: Initially when I started this whole thing I thought I would make it as a designer because I was under a young people's club called the trendsetters club and i would give them a few ideas and so forth until i was asked to conduct rehearsals for modelling for the club's launch,,,, that is when i realised that this was it for me, that this was were my passion really lied,,,so i started looking into some agencies and vôila i'm where i am today lol

SaZw❗: And we see you to be the great model you are today

Fra C: Hahaha well I try

Fra C: Working towards being great of course

SaZw❗: So who's behind Francis now or can we say the agency that made you to be the great model?

Fra C: Of course if it wasn't for the good teachings and guidance of the lovely Mrs Sarah Mpofu Sibanda i wouldn't be where i am

Fra C: She played a significant role in making me to be the model that i am today,, i mean she has produced quality over the years models who have become Miss Zim, Miss Byo, top runway models you name it

SaZw❗: Oh yes we all knoe her to be such an inspirational woman.

SaZw❗: So how would you define your sense of style?

Fra C: Well i would say i love afrocentric stuff and i always like to add a gentleman touch to it

SaZw❗: Wat do u prefer, runway or pageant Modelling? And why

Fra C: Both i guess because Fingers masters the art of pageantry that is why most of the fingers models have a graceful touch to them lol and yeah runway is also fun because you get to interact with designers and network a lot

Fra C: So i really can't say i prefer the other to the other because to me its all the same

SaZw❗: What's yo fav item of clothing in your wardrobe and why

Fra C: I can't really say i have a favourite item of clothing hey everything in my wardrobe is on point to me,,, i would say though each outfit depends on the mood on that day

SaZw❗: Ok thanx very much Francis. It was so nice chatting with you.

SaZw❗: StyleArchivezw wishes you all the best in your career building

Fra C: Pleasure

For those who still dono Francis, here's some of the evidence that this young man has rocked the runway like a professional.

The Past Week

I'm sure y'all must've been  wondering what happened to us this past week? Folks we had a bit of a glitch and it was beyond our control. But guess what, we here now and full time.

So we'll start on Thursday last week. We attended the Red Collection party at horizon by Rudo. This amazing lady was launching her bag collection. Even though the show started a bit late, it was worth the wait. Supported by other local designers like Black Runnaway and Bulawayo Funk, this show turned out to be a great success. Couldn't help it buh get a few pictures from this show. Congrats Rudo.

On another note, our fashion friend in the music industry XMile had a launch on Saturday at Music Academy. StyleArchivezw didn't manage to attend this event but managed we to get infor and pictures from reliable sources and they say it was fabulous and well attended. Well wat can we say besides well done to this friend of ours.

Lets keep warm and glamorous then folks as we wait to see what this week has in store for us.

Annie G.... Bringing Fashion To The World

Folks I've talked over and over again about the appreciation of fashion in Zim. One person who's helped us accomplish is one lady, I've dubbed the Queen of Haute Couture, Annie G.

Annie R Gonyora is head designer of Annie G Couture. One thing that has olwaiz made me respect this woman is her stance to cater for the plus size women. In the fashion world, as we all know , it's olwaiz been about the smallest size. Well not to this creative genius. She's transformed the stereotype that only the small can be sexy. She's dressed the true African, curveous figure and helped people appreciate it.

Being the director of Bulawayo board of designers, we can all see wat they saw in her. Annie's sense of style is of a higher level as she never disappoints on the red carpet. She always makes it a point that she makes it known to the world that her creativity and artistic designs are out of this world.

Having showcased in various fashion shows, we truly see the "eclectic mix of edgy, modern and afro-chic taste in clothes designed to suit ones perfect identity" as she'd put it herself.

Stay glued for the next coming weeks as we bring to you Annie G and what she does best. We truly can't wait to see wat this goddess has in store for us in the coming months. Having said all this, who wouldn't want to scream "I'm rocking Annie G".
